I'm 39 and brand new to triathlon. I love it! It's so challenging and almost all of it is new to me, but that's what I love about racing. I have so much to learn and I'm excited to push myself. I grew up playing soccer and then lacrosse. So I have an athletic background, but not a three sports-in-one background. I joined a local tri club this year and that was great for the coaching and for the community. I love being part of a team. I also love that this sport is mostly me racing me. Yeah, I want to place well, but first I have to train to beat myself. Which is so challenging and fun. I'm excited to keep pushing and keep swimming!
