I am a newcomer to triathlon who has fallen in love with the sport! I grew up playing hockey and baseball at a high level in Minnesota but lost touch with sports as I entered college. After being exposed to multisport through my grandparents, I became interested in triathlon and joined my college's club team. Before I could compete, however, I tore my labrum in both hips and endured a 3-year journey of bilateral hip surgery and recovery. As I got back into triathlon last summer, I joined a local club and have been steadily making a healthy return to the sport. I am incredibly excited to continue building my strength and endurance this off-season through weekly swims with my local masters group. I was again sidelines from running this season, but I instead turned that energy into more swimming! I grew a deeper love for open water and swimming with others. I consider myself a community-oriented athlete with an incredible passion for multisport. It has changed my perspective on life in many ways and I am eager to see what my future in triathlon holds!
