I got into triathlon a few years ago and fell in love with this sport that pushes you past what you believe you are capable of. Like many, I started with running, after a lot of health issues, running allowed me to take my mind off things. And like I tend to do, I added a little more distance each time and decided to tackle a marathon. After that I started to get a little bored with just running and added swimming and cycling over time. A few years ago I competed in my first triathlon, a 70.3 Ironman in Busselton, and it continued to grow from there.
Competing in my first full Ironman, again in Busselton, in 2019 I was hooked on this distance. Of course Covid kicked in then and I haven't been able to get to my second (but cross fingers for December), but I have every intention to continue with this distance and have been eyeing off the XTRI world tour events. Triathlon has become such a big part of my lifestyle though my hobbies, work, and studies.
Outside of triathlon I also continue to compete in marathons and half marathons throughout the year, aquathons when they come up, and the winter duathon series we have here in Adelaide, Australia.
