Hello! I'm Meg. I was born and raised in Southern California and my that is where my love for water began. I was a swimmer in high school and taught the swim team and swim lessons throughout my undergrad. I did my undergraduate at the University of Arizona and that is where my love for adventure and appreciation for nature really started. I'm not a fan of summers because they hinder my ability to be outdoors but the beauty in the desert is amazing.
After graduate school, I got a job working at a NASA facility on the ASU campus working on NASA missions. Space has been my passion since I was a child. I always thought I'd go back to California because my family lives there but I met a wonderful man while I was in Arizona and that was that.
I did my first triathlon in August 2019. It was just a sprint and it was much harder than I thought it was going to be but I really enjoyed it! I was hooked. It is such a challenge to balance 3 sports. Swimming is still my favorite of the three. Although, I have to admit, as I get older the cold water is really hard for me to get into. I really enjoy biking as well and the run is the real pits for me! I'm not good at it.
2022 has been a rough year for me for racing. I was going through IVF, got pregnant and had a miscarriage. The only thing I enjoyed doing was swimming and now that I'm starting to heal from the miscarriage, I can't wait to get back out there.
