I am a 30 year member of the U.S. Armed Forces. I currently serve as a Major in the U.S. Army stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, where I am assigned as a Program Manager. I have participated in the sport of triathlon for nearly 24 years and have had a blast traveling around the country competing and meeting people who share the same passion of triathlon as I do. I have completed multiple 70.3 events and 4 Ironman distances. I have even had the distinct honor of competing in the Ironman World Championships in 2013. I was one of the last individuals that was awarded a slot from the Ironman Lottery. I felt both honored and humbled to share the starting line and course with the best in the world. I am a dreamer and a realist. I dreamed of a day in which I could go to Kona, but realized that I am a grinder and a finisher of Ironman races, but did not possess the attributes necessary to qualify. Thankfully, John Collins had set up a program in which the everyday triathlete could have an opportunity to get the Willy Wonka golden ticket to the RACE. I took full advantage of it and loved every second of that experience.
