I’m a mom to two adventurous children and a lifelong Alaskan. I love being outside, camping, swimming, hiking, riding bikes, and running mountains. My favorite activity is ocean swimming. Last summer I attempted to swim around Shelter Island (an island a few miles from Juneau) with a group of people. I made it 14 miles (it’s about 24 miles long)which took 9 hours and 15 minutes. Shelter has crazy currents and to get through North pass I faced current going two miles an hour in the wrong direction (??oops on the timing). I’ve ran Mount Marathon in Seward, raced escape from Alcatraz and try and do the local triathlon each year. Last year I placed second. Before kids I taught K/1 but now work part time for a medevac company. My motto is do the right thing for the right reasons and I strive to surround myself with healthy, happy, positive people. I believe that when you harness the power of teamwork and collaboration it brings everyone up. With Covid I have taken French and yoga.
