2020 should have been 4th year of triathlons after learning to swim recovering from a "weekend warrior" injury in 2015. After promotion to Senior Civil Engineer, too much time was being spent behind a desk. A bit of running turned into learning to swim then my first sprint soon after. Now several races later (including IMLP 70.3 twice), i'm hooked.
2021 big races (for me) included The Maple Run (1/2 Marathon) in April followed by Musselman 70.3 in the summer then the Lake Placid Classic Half in the fall (followed by a cool down swim in MIrror Lake!!)
2022 Started with some small races as things were opening up and The Maple Run again (5th year!! plus its almost in my back yard). Training was going great for both Tinman in Tupper Lake NY to be followed by Ironman 70.3 Maine. Then - COVID on Father's Day. Ended up with COVID lung that I'm still recovering from (as of 9/14/2022). Training has started completely over. Swimming has helped me keep my mind, as I've been able to keep getting into the water (at a very slow pace). Running is now walking - have gotten back to 2.3 miles. And a bit on the bike. The next year will be a rebuild year.
