Man, I sure am excited about a Blueseventy racing team!!!

I am a swim specialist triathlete with a very long history in the sport of competitive swimming. It all started when I was 7 years old and my parents dropped me at practice for the first time. At the first swim meets, I saw the older kids swimming as fast as the wind and I was obsessed! My competitive swimming career ended in high school, where I was able to become an All-American in both the 50 and 100 free (back in 2007) as well as set a school record in the 400 free relay (anchoring, with a 45.5 split). After high school, I hung up my competitive swimming hat for college where I played a year of water polo on the club team at Michigan State University (I played all through high school as a varsity starter). We were in the national championship final that year and lost in triple overtime sudden death, but not after being Big Ten conference champions! At Michigan State, I also perused a degree in chemical engineering and graduated in 2011.
After college, I moved to South Haven, Michigan where I started my career.

One day at work in 2011 one of co-workers invited me to do a triathlon relay at the local South Haven beach triathlon and of course I said yes! After attending the event and seeing what Triathlon was about, I was immediately in love with the sport! The next year I did my first sprint triathlon and got 1st in my age-group.

If I am in a race, it is usually my goal to be the first guy out of the water! I really enjoy the high intensity of the Olympic triathlon, so I have taken a major liking to those distance events! I have done a few 70.3 events and my fastest swim time in one of those is 26:40.
I have a couple races planned for next year, but still working through the details of most of the season. I know I will attend age group national championships. This year my big race is ITU World Championships in Edmonton, Canada with Team USA!
