Having a swim background from a very young age, I grew burnt out from the sport, due to extreme competitiveness and my own physical fitness fading as I became very overweight, in my high school years. Upon entering college I made a commitment to myself to change my health and lifestyle habits and found a love for endurance sport. I caught the runner's bug, and like most runners, got injured after doing too much too soon. Recovery took my back to the pool and into the sport of triathlon. Now two years into triathlon training and racing, I am constantly reminded why I fell in love with swimming at such an early age. I have a lot of room to grow in triathlon, am still young, in the sport and in life, and have big goals for the next few years. Endurance sport has truly helped me find the best version of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.
