I love the water, always have! I grew up boating and swimming around the Puget Sound. I entered my first sprint triathlon in 2005, thinking I could swim. I ended up alternating side stroke w/ crawl because I struggled with breathing. Every sprint triathlon for the last 14 years I have utilized backstroke as a crutch for my breathing. I am strong and have always dreamed of developing a fluid crawl stroke. I started taking a masters swim class from the Tri race director at the YMCA and that been a game changer. I do open water swims at American lake with a group of people that is forever growing. We call it our TRIbe. We encourage anyone we meet that loves to swim or needs help with open water swimming skills to join us. Together, we overcome our fears through support and encouragement and staying in "our lane" to work on whatever our obstacles are. I recently upgraded to the thermal Helix so I can swim year round in the Puget Sound and area lakes. I joined the BlueSeventy team in 2020 and we all know what happened to our race calendar. I am hoping to get things back on track with my team in 2023! Thanks for letting me be a part of this incredible team!
