I am an Australian living in Canada as a Permanent Resident. Growing up in Australia, I was a competitive pool swimmer up until I was 17 years ols. At 21 I started competing in open water events after joining Surf Life Saving as a volunteer lifesaver. I often placed in the top 3 in many age group events.
In 2013, I moved across the globe from Australia to Canada. I currently reside in North Vancouver, British Columbia. After couple of years of living here and not doing any ocean swimming, I set a goal to compete in the Escape from Alcatraz event in 2017, wearing Blueseventy Thermal. I placed second in my age category.
In 2020 I signed up and trained for Ironman Canada until covid struck. Unfortunately shortly after time I broke my leg which has caused a series of complications with bone infection and chronic regional pain syndrome. As a 2022 member I have struggled to maintain fitness as I’ve dealt with the issue.
2023 I’ve decided to give up on the Ironman dream and focus back on ocean swims. Making a return to san fransisco, Noosa and Waikiki rough water swim.
