My name is Zachary, I’ve been doing triathlon for 5 years and I have dwarfism. I was born with a rare form of dwarfism called Ellis Van Creveld Syndrome and although I’m slightly taller (a few inches) than people with more common forms, I still have many of the same features. Short limbs, normal torso and head, bad joints and abnormal hands and feet. Triathlon has helped me gain confidence as just wasn’t tall enough for the other sports. The last thing I’ll say is, although I usually finish in the higher end of the mid pack, I feel like for a guy with dwarfism, that almost a win.
