We have 3 children and live in a great community north of Seattle, WA. We are active in our local Triathlon club. (Snohomish County YMCA Tri-Club) I became a USAT coach and help all our members free of charge. I have raced all distance triathlons (except sprint) I'm usually the GOTO resource for equipment. I wouldn't recommend anything that I haven't used and since I use the Blueseventy Helix full suit as my primary open water gear I figured this would be a great fit.
A little more about my journey into the sport. I received a diagnosis of Testicular cancer in 2010. I was 310lbs and just starting to get motivated into "shape" the wake up call prompted all sorts of "Bucket list" activities. Ironman was one. We discovered the joy of the sport and when I say we I'm talking about my wife and I. We both race. Usually compete in Clydesdale or Athena division. In 2015 we raced Nationals in Grand Rapids where I won the overall for our division on the 70.3 course. Today we still continue to race and have 3 Full distance Ironman events on the calender along with a couple Half and Olympic distance races. Down to 240lbs and I'm currently hovering around 12 hours for a full distance Ironman. I hope to break 10-11hours this November in AZ.
I think regardless of your decision to accept me I will advocate for Blueseventy as I genuinely believe they have the best products available. From our thermal caps to our swim boots its all quality. With a suit in about every budget I think everyone should be in a blue seventy.
Thank you for the consideration. Look forward to hearing from the team.
