|Bucket List Race||Ironman 70.3 World Championship|
I have been doing triathlons since 2011 so I started a bit late but got bitten by the bug and have challenged myself ever since. I'm an adventurer and have even traveled to Antarctica to work at the South Pole. I also love to hike, kayak, travel, and explore new places to eat and drink. I've been a safety engineer for 12 years and my job has taken me to some interesting places. I love the challenge triathlon training brings to my life and I want to see what's possible in this next stage of racing over age 50! I also just moved to Washington state so I'm feeling my way around this new beautiful location to train and seeking my "tribe". I'd love to start my own or join a triathlon group specifically geared toward athletes who are over 40 and looking to push the limits of what an "older" athlete can do. I think this is an untapped market but older athletes are still crazy competitive. I want to change the face of racing over 50 if I can and maybe inspire some who think they can't do triathlons as they age. This year I'm challenging myself to a podium finish even if it's in a smaller local race. I know I can do it!
